Mental Health Treatment for Adults and Teens

Adult and teen residents of Fairfield County can access outpatient mental health treatment services at High Focus Centers’ facility in Norwalk, CT.

Our experienced clinical team uses evidence-based therapeutic models to help adults and teenagers address depression, anxiety, self-harm and other mental health conditions, as well as co-occurring disorders.

Mental health programming for adolescents

High Focus Centers offers two levels of structured outpatient programs to accommodate a variety of needs: partial hospitalization (full day) and intensive outpatient (half-day).

Partial hospitalization (PHP) for teens

This full-day program is designed to offer a high level of support for teens with significant mental health symptoms. The focus is to quickly stabilize these symptoms and set the stage for a return to previous functioning. This program can be an option if lower levels of treatment are not working, and it can also be used as a next step after a residential program. In addition, this program offers a school component, providing academic support to students while in treatment.

Adolescent intensive outpatient (IOP)

Our after-school program can be used as an early intervention when teens first develop symptoms. It may also be used as a step down from higher levels of care. Teens who have completed our PHP program enter IOP next as they transition back to a normal schedule at school.

Co-occurring IOP for adolescents

For teens diagnosed with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders, we offer a specialized track of treatment. Our teen co-occurring track uses both mental health and substance use treatment methods to help your child recover from both disorders at the same time.

Anxiety management IOP for adolescents

We offer an anxiety management track within our intensive outpatient program (IOP) for adolescents. In this 18-session module, adolescents develop skills based in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for managing anxiety. This track is ideal for adolescents who are primarily presenting with an anxiety disorder but whose levels of psychological distress are not acute enough to warrant enrollment in a partial hospitalization program (PHP), or as a step down from PHP treatment.  This program is offered Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 3-6pm.

Transportation to Treatment

Lack of transportation sometimes prevents teens with behavioral health conditions from accessing much-needed care. In New Jersey and Connecticut, High Focus Centers is now offering transportation to teens residing within a 15-mile radius of our programs.

For partial hospitalization programs (PHP), we offer round-trip transportation from home to treatment (within a 15-mile radius) and for after school intensive outpatient programs (IOP), we provide transportation from school to treatment (clients need a parent or caregiver to drive them home at the end of the day).

Adult mental health treatment

Our Norwalk location now offers adult mental health programming at two outpatient levels of care.

Mental health PHP for adults

We offer a day program for adults at this location. Our adult PHP provides more structure and intensity for individuals who need to manage significant mental health symptoms. PHP can be an option if lower levels of treatment are not working, or it can be used as a next step after an inpatient program.

Mental health IOP for adults

Adult IOP is also available in Norwalk. IOP treatment includes group therapy sessions, individual sessions and psychoeducation to teach clients about managing a mental health disorder.

Co-occurring IOP for adults

For adults diagnosed with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, we offer a specialized intensive outpatient program. Our adult co-occurring IOP uses both mental health and substance use treatment methods to help clients recover from both disorders at the same time.

At High Focus Centers, no two treatment plans are alike. Each client meets with a licensed mental health specialist to determine the appropriate level of care based on their personal and clinical needs. Our goal is to help each & every client achieve long-term wellness.
