Treatment for Teens, Tweens and Adults

For individuals in the Mercer County area, High Focus Centers’ Lawrenceville location offers help for mental health and co-occurring disorders. Our Lawrenceville treatment facility is staffed by our expert clinicians and therapists, ready to help patients on their journey to recovery. We offer mental health, psychiatric and co-occurring disorder treatment for adults, and psychiatric services for teens and preadolescents.

Mental Health Services

For teens and adults in need of structured outpatient mental health treatment, we offer two specialized programs at our Lawrenceville, NJ location:

  • Partial Hospitalization Program — This program meets every day, Monday through Friday. The Partial Care Program is designed for patients in need of additional structure and staff support due to more severe mental health symptoms.
  • Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) — This program is available for approximately three hours each session, three days a week, depending on patient need.

Group, family and psychiatric sessions are also included as part of the programs.

Mental Health Programming for Adolescents

Adolescent Partial hospitalization (PHP)

Our structured PHP track quickly stabilizes significant mental health symptoms so clients can focus on core issues and functionality. We offer an academic component to support students during their treatment.

Adolescent intensive outpatient (IOP)

For teens who complete the PHP, IOP is often the next step as they transition back to a regular school schedule. This after-school program can be used as a step down from higher levels of care or as an early intervention when symptoms first appear.

Adolescent Co-occurring IOP

This specialized program helps adolescents recover from both mental health disorders and substance use disorders at the same time. Since co-occurring disorders often exacerbate each other, we offer a co-occurring track for teens to treat them in tandem to increase chances of full recovery.

Tween Program

This program focuses on communication skills, self-esteem, social skills and incorporates experiential therapy for preadolescents ages 10-13. This program is designed to meet the unique mental health needs of tweens.

Transportation to Treatment

Lack of transportation sometimes prevents teens with behavioral health conditions from accessing much-needed care. In New Jersey and Connecticut, High Focus Centers is now offering transportation to teens residing within a 15-mile radius of our programs.

For partial hospitalization programs (PHP), we offer round-trip transportation from home to treatment (within a 15-mile radius) and for after school intensive outpatient programs (IOP), we provide transportation from school to treatment (clients need a parent or caregiver to drive them home at the end of the day).

Treatment for Adults

Mental health PHP for adults

PHP stabilizes significant mental health symptoms with a structured program that meets daily, offering dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills training, psychoeducation, group and individual therapy and more. This is a full-day primary mental health program.

Mental health IOP for adults

The IOP groups are offered during the day and evening to give working adults flexibility, while still providing structured and regular support. This part-time program is a step down from PHP, and clients continue to receive group and individual therapy for primary mental health disorders.

Adult Co-occurring IOP

Co-occurring disorders often develop in tandem, and our specialized co-occurring track treats substance use and mental health disorders simultaneously.
