How IOP and PHP Help Kids Manage Stress 

High Focus Centers offers structured, therapeutic environments where children and adolescents can safely explore what’s causing their stress and learn how to cope. 

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) 

IOP is ideal for children and teens who need more than weekly therapy but don’t require round-the-clock care. Sessions typically occur 3–5 days per week for a few hours each day, allowing students to stay engaged in school and home life while getting targeted mental health support. 

Benefits of IOP include: 

  • Group therapy with peers for shared experiences 
  • One-on-one counseling to build coping skills 
  • Family therapy to strengthen communication and understanding at home 
  • Psychoeducation on topics like emotional regulation, mindfulness and problem-solving 

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) 

PHP provides a higher level of care than IOP and is often recommended for youth who are struggling with intense stress, anxiety or mood disorders that interfere with daily functioning. PHP offers a full-day therapeutic schedule, usually five days a week, with clinical support throughout the day.
