Paying for Treatment: An Overview of New Jersey Family Care
Published On: May 22, 2017|Categories: Treatment|

Paying for adult or adolescent treatment for psychiatric conditions or substance use disorders can be intimidating at first. If you need healthcare insurance to help pay for mental health services, there is a program called New Jersey Family Care that can help.

New Jersey Family Care is a state government health insurance program for people who are eligible for the Children’s Health Insurance Plan, Medicaid or Medicaid expansion programs. New Jersey Family Care also accepts people who work but don’t have employer insurance. If you live in New Jersey and meet the income requirements, you may be eligible for free or low-cost health insurance that would cover mental health and substance use treatment and other medical services.1

You can learn more about the Children’s Health Insurance Plan or Medicaid plans in New Jersey by visiting Medicaid’s website at https://www.medicaid.gov/medicaid/by-state/stateprofile.html?state=new-jersey.
